Myrtle Beach original hand painted seashell fireflies firefly art.
Greetings! My name is Jennifer. I’m an artist from the Appalachian Region, USA.
I’ve been painting fireflies since 2005. I basically adore every aspect of their existence, like their bioluminescent allure, their ability to use light signaling patterns to create an array of sparkling glow in the night in effort to impress and attract and mate with a female lol, and their keen ability to not look like a firefly in the daytime...rather, appearing as a normal, average flying insect. Those incognito rascals...so yeah...and so...I paint them for a living.
I collected this seashell on a recent trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA during the July 4th 2021 weekend. I spent two amazing days combing the beach for the perfect little tokens of the ocean to create whimsical, miniature firefly scenes.
Purple is my favorite color and fireflies are my favorite insects and the beach is my favorite place to be, so with this unique seashell, you’re also getting little bits of me.
I like to be reminded of the warm feelings I felt while at the beach...free and peaceful and youthful and fun. I hope this tiny world of color and elemental texture and light lends the same feelings of joy to you.
