Heathkit IT-21 tube tester
completely restored.
This tube tester has been completely restored, both cosmetically and electrically.
Electrical Restoration:
The entire chassis was deeply cleaned.
All the wiring was checked according to the schematic; the solder joints were thoroughly checked to verify that they were all quality made. Corrections were made where needed.
Resistors were checked, those out of tolerance were replaced.
A new 0.1 capacitor was installed.
All switches and rotary switches were thoroughly cleaned and lubricated with specific products with this purpose, as well the tube sockets pins and potentiometers.
The transformer was checked for proper operation, it is working as it should.
Element test voltages: 30,100 and 250 Volts AC
Filament voltages: .63, 1.4, 2, 2.35, 2.5, 3.15, 4.2, 4.7, 5, 6.3, 7.5, 9.45, 12.6, 19.6, 25, 32, 50, 70 and 110 Volts AC
The test clip cable was replaced.
A new AC line cord was installed.
Cosmetic restoration:
The front panel was thoroughly cleaned and restored, as well as the screws, levers, meter window and knobs.
The roll chart window was replaced.
The cabinet was repainted.
All new rubber feet were installed.
The roll chart mechanism was completely disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, lubed and adjusted for a free and smooth operation. The roll chart is complete and perfect, without damage.
This tester was calibrated, supplying correct voltage values according to the line voltage.
The tester was tested for filament and plate voltage values and operating voltages, with satisfactory results. Functionality tests for short and leakage were also completed, with satisfactory results.
This tube tester is fully operational and ready for use. It is properly working.
