Description

This is Triplett’s best tube tester. You can set up the tester from a tube manual or the roll chart. It tests at up to 250 volts DC for plate and screen with a signal at 5 kHz. The Hickok 539B and C models only test to 160 volts with a signal at 60 Hz. Testing tubes at higher voltages that are at or close to those used in tube manuals(the reference standard), gives better results.
I have reconditioned this tube tester. I replaced the electrolytic caps, carbon resistors, and rectifiers. I installed a pot to make the line adjustment easier and calibrated the unit. Cleaned the switches and sockets, and installed a new power cord. Then I refinished the case in a fleck stone finish and put on new feet and handle . I show a pic testing one of my bogey tubes accurately. Comes with new Plate and Grid Cap Leads and the Manual on CD.
