I often have requests for the 9.5K ohm, 3 or 2 tap resistors.
I don't have any usable one now but I have many broken ones.
When I repair the resistor, I usually place a clamp at the open spot.
Or if the open spot is located near the end of the resistor, I flip the resistor left and right
so that the spot be located at the unused portion of the resistor.
