Vintage Westmoreland Milk Glass Old Quilt Pattern Glass Lidded Candy Dish. Condition is "Used". Very good, used condition. This candy dish sat on the counter, table, or coffee/tea tray for many decades and served a sweet delight to many. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.

This and the other milk glass and most vintage items I am selling are from my parent's home. They were married during the Great Depression after both working their way through medical and business school. After struggling to build a medical practice, they bought the home that had previously been the Army's Sr Officer's off-base home during WWII and was used for entertaining until one was built on base. My parents entertained many people from around the world in their fine home.
It's well known that even the actress Rita Hayworth was once a guest in the home while it belonged to the Army base and that it was affectionately known by the soldiers who loved the food prepared by its excellent cooks as "The 760". The historical home in Texas was built in 1904.
After the war, when my parents bought it, they followed the pattern of entertaining and hosted missionaries, ambassadors, military leaders, and friends and family through the near 40 years they lived in the home and while my father used part of the downstairs of the large home for his doctor's office. They were generous and kind people, visiting prisons, nursing homes, and those in need on a weekly basis. I grew up participating in the shut-in ministry to the elderly. I'm retired now and no longer able to entertain in the way I used to, so it's time for others to enjoy the silver, crystal, depression glass, milk glass, and other fine items I'm selling. Know that these items were used by many people in this home and came from a home and table with much love. It's my hope that they go to another home where sharing love and kindness are the norm.
