ideal for dinner table use or for curio displayOld Quilt #500 Milk Glass Cruet
with Stopper
from Westmoreland Glass Co.
great condition to please hostess and collector
Offered here today for your enjoyment and consideration is this beautiful, vintage milk glass cruet with original stopper from the Old Quilt glassware pattern by famed US maker Westmoreland Glass Co. of Grapeville, Pennsylvania. Westmoreland cataloged the pattern as line #500 when introduced ca. 1940. It's a pattern of blocks and hobstars inspired by the glassware of the much earlier Victorian Era that continued in popularity and in production until about 1984. Our cruet stands about 5.5" tall with its stopper in place and has diameter of about 3.75" across the widest part of its bulbous body. It's a great example of mold blown glassware that sports a prominent pontil mark on its bottom from the blowing process. This specimen is not marked by the factory.
Condition here is very good with the only issues of any note being some expected roughness at the edges of the "plug" end of the stopper.
Otherwise
it's fully damage free exhibiting no chips or cracks. You'll find the piece to be free from any stain, discoloration, or hard water deposits. Pattern definition is good with milk white color strong and uniform overall. Virtually no surface wear is noted. The stopper fits well, is easily removed and inserted and does not leak. All in all this is just a fabulous item of vintage
glassware
that's ready for use on your dinner table tonight else will display beautifully in a good curio collection of fine glassware. We feel like it should easily please hostess and collector alike!

Because most, if not all of the goods we offer are vintage, antique, and have likely been used you should expect them to exhibit the typical and expected signs of age and prior use. We’ll do our best to describe condition and make mention of any significant or noticeable wear, but we ask that you have realistic expectations of these items and not expect them to be “like new” or pristine unless specifically described as such when listed.
We generally e-mail an invoice detailing total charges including any applicable postage within 24 hours after listing end. If you prefer to use eBay checkout and pay immediately that's fine too. Additional e-mail will be sent to acknowledge receipt of payment and to notify buyers once items have been shipped. We want you to always know the status of your order.
